The Insight of “OT Eyes”: A Foundational Perspective

Beyond the Symptoms: Strengthening Your Neurological Roots. True change starts beneath the surface. We integrate three powerful, evidence-based pillars into every session to ensure your nervous system is a partner—not an obstacle—in your journey towards growth.

The “Less is Best” Principle

Safety First, Growth Follows

Inspired by Australian primitive reflex expert Moira Dempsey, we prioritise safety and regulation as the bedrock of change. A stressed nervous system cannot learn, adapt, or find joy. By honouring your unique pace, we ensure your internal environment feels secure enough to make the move towards the changes you want. Whether you are six or sixty, we meet you exactly where you are.

Neurological Foundations

Resetting Our Neural Pathways

We look beneath the surface at the rhythmic patterns that govern our brain’s efficiency. Using innate infant movement sequences, we help integrate the primitive reflexes that often underpin challenges with ADHD/ADD Combined, Autism, and anxiety. It’s about providing the central nervous system with the consistent calm it needs to forge new neurological pathways—the “wiring” that turns daily struggle into daily flow.

Sensory Registration Expertise

Beyond Sensitivity

Through “OT Eyes,” Angela identifies not just sensitivity, but registration delays. We help children whose brains receive sensory messages with a “lag,” helping them bridge the gap between receiving information and responding with confidence.

Therapy Without Borders: Growth in Your Natural Element

We believe that the best place to find your joy is where you actually live your life. Whether it is the comfort of your home, the playground at school, the open space of a local park, or even your office, we meet you where you are. By working in your real-world environment—or connecting via seamless telehealth—we ensure that progress isn’t just something that happens in a session, but something that stays with you every day. We adapt to your life’s rhythm, ensuring the support you receive is as mobile and fluid as the growth we aim to achieve.

The “What”:

We offer specialised assessment and therapy for those living with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Sensory Processing Disorder and many other neurological conditions. Our mission is to bring ease back into your world, regardless of your diagnosis. By understanding your specific neurological makeup, we create a tailored path that addresses functional challenges, ensuring you have the support you need to find your joy at any age. We look beyond the label to ensure that your unique neurological journey leads to a life of greater balance and confidence.

The Detail:
We provide comprehensive support across a diverse range of neurological profiles, offering deep insight into how they evolve and impact function throughout the lifespan. By understanding your specific blueprint, we help you navigate life’s transitions with confidence—ensuring you have the tools to find more ease and joy at every stage, from childhood through to adulthood.

What It Looks Like:
A combination of clinical observation, standardised functional assessments, and collaborative goal-setting with the family.

The “What”:
Assessing and integrating the fundamental building blocks of human development to support function at all life stages.

The Detail:
Primitive reflexes have long been understood as the fundamental building blocks to healthy development. If they remain active instead of integrating, they can have significant impacts on a person’s function and ability to participate meaningfully in their world. We use well-researched, evidence-based Rhythmic Movements to help these reflexes integrate, effectively “resetting” the nervous system’s foundation.

What It Looks Like:
Gentle, repetitive movements that mimic the natural rhythms of a developing nervous system to allow natural development to take place.

The “What”:
Addressing self-care, motor skills, coordination, and sleep through a “bottom-up” lens.

The Detail:
A traditional approach to occupational therapy is complimentary to our neurodevelopmental work. We address all areas of meaningful occupation, including fine and gross motor skills, tone, balance, and transitions. Because sensory processing challenges are often the source of “avoiding” or “seeking” behaviours, we work to reduce anxiety and increase social participation.

What It Looks Like:
Interactive, family-focussed sessions where we practise activities of daily living (ADLs) and use sensory-motor strategies to build real-world skills.

The “What”:
Professional upskilling, workshops, and general consulting for private and government sectors, designed to restore function and harmony.

The Detail:
We offer specialised training across four key areas: Educational Settings (preschools and primary schools), Healthcare Partnerships (in-services for Allied Health professionals and GPs), Cost-Effective Parent Groups (collaborative workshops for families), and Corporate Wellness & Resilience (supporting employee mental health and well-being through neurodevelopmental principles).

What It Looks Like:
Engaging, interactive presentations and strategy-heavy workshops where participants learn how rhythmic and neurodevelopmental movements can restore balance to the nervous system, improving focus, coordination, and overall health.

Meet Angela Preston, B.OT.

Angela’s path to establishing Rhythm to Grow is deeply rooted in a holistic understanding of the human lifespan. After graduating as an Occupational Therapist in 2007, she balanced early parenthood before commencing her clinical practice in 2012.

Her diverse career began with six years in Occupational Rehabilitation, followed by extensive work within the NDIS framework supporting adults with complex needs. It was during this time that Angela recognised a common thread: many of the physical, sensory, and emotional challenges faced by adults stem from unresolved foundational patterns in early development.

Driven by this insight, Angela transitioned into specialising in paediatrics and neurodevelopmental care. Today, she uses her extensive background to help clients of all ages—from young children experiencing sensory storms to adults seeking better nervous system regulation.

Whether she is sitting by the Murray River in Mildura with her beloved Cavaliers or visiting a family in the beautiful Southern Highlands, Angela brings a warm, grounded, and deeply relatable “lived-experience” approach to every individual she supports.

“My goal isn’t just to help a child ‘behave’—it’s to help their nervous system feel safe and organised enough so that playing, learning, and growing become a joy, not a chore.”

— Angela Preston
